New work available  . . .

 

I finished some new work that will be available soon, some are in the varnishing stage and others have sold since I last posted here.

 

First is an oil painting called Red Pears from the Market, oil on linen and is 9" x 12".     This is another oil painting that I recently finished this month.  I really liked the contrast of the red pears against the dark background, and the brown bag was a nice addition. I don't always paint a dark background because to me it depends on the subject matter and how the colors and light play into and on to the image.  Sometimes you have an opaque subject like the brown bag and you still have color that bounces or reflects into the shadowed areas and it's important to notice those little details.  #stilllife, #oilpainting, #fineart, #pears, #womenartists
